Dr. Joseph Blalock grew up on a working beef cattle farm in Crossville, Tennessee, where his family’s roots date back to the early 1800s. Life on the farm with his parents and three younger sisters instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, faith, and caring for others. His path to dentistry was shaped by a childhood farm accident that resulted in a dental injury, and the experience of having his smile restored sparked a lasting appreciation for how dentistry can improve both health and confidence. Combined with his compassion, creativity, and love of working with his hands, dentistry became a clear calling.
Dr. Blalock earned his undergraduate degree in Health Science Biology from Tennessee Technological University, graduating summa cum laude, and went on to graduate with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. After practicing general dentistry in Cookeville, Tennessee, for three years, he opened Lakeside Dental to provide exceptional, patient-centered care. He is deeply committed to continuing education and completed advanced postgraduate training at the Kois Center in 2024. Dr. Blalock is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI) and a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
What Dr. Blalock loves most about dentistry is helping patients enhance their health, rediscover their smiles, and regain confidence in everyday life. He is equally passionate about leading and developing an elite dental team, believing exceptional patient care begins with constant growth and encouragement. Outside the practice, Dr. Blalock is married to his wife, Kayla, whom he has known since childhood, and they have two children, Brody and Emma Kate. His faith and family are his highest priorities, and life beyond the clinic centers on being present—supporting his family, attending his children’s activities, and spending time back on the family farm in Crossville.
