The process begins with a consultation at Lakeside Dental. Dr. Blalock will examine your mouth and determine whether clear aligners are a good fit for you. If you are a good candidate, he will take images and dental impressions of your teeth to get started on your custom treatment plan.
Dr. Blalock will develop your personalized smile treatment plan and build your first several sets of aligners. Once your aligners are ready, you will come back to our office to pick them up and get instructions for wearing them.
You will wear each set of aligners according to Dr. Blalock's instructions, typically 20 to 22 hours per day for about two weeks at a time. Every two weeks, you will switch to a new set of aligners as your teeth gradually shift into position. The aligners are removable, so you can take them out to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
About every six weeks, you will come back to our office for a brief checkup and to pick up your next few sets of aligners. Treatment typically requires about 20 to 24 sets of aligners, which means most patients complete their new smile in about a year. Dr. Blalock will monitor your progress throughout and let you know when your smile has reached its final, beautiful result.
